Sport Fishing
All the water sources in our province represent a temptation for fishing lovers. The great lakes along the Andes Range, the rivers that cross the steppe and the long coastal sector are inhabited by different species that, due to their size and strength, will demand the use of the most refined techniques if you want to catch them.
Thanks to the 965 km of the coastal sector, the great number of lakes and the five rivers that cross the province, you can fish different species depending on the sector that you choose, for example: sharks, landlocked salmons, brown trouts and rainbow trouts.
Southern Sector

The south area of the province offers excellent possibilities to spend an unforgettable journey. The most interesting sites are the following lakes: Roca, Viedma, del Desierto and San Martín. In all of them the fishing season starts in November and finishes in April.

Northwest Sector
Lake Buenos Aires and Lake Pueyrredón are the ideal lakes to practise sport fishing using different techniques as: spinning, trolling and fly cast. Nevertheless, the lovers of the fly casting prefer Los Antiguos and Jeinemeni Rivers.
Lake Cardiel, at 67 km from Gobernador Gregores, is the chosen lake to celebrate the Salmon Competition. The species that can be fished here are: rainbow trout, landlocked salmon, brown trout and brook trout.
Coastal Sector

The different estuaries along the coast are the right sites to fish the salmons that return
from the sea to spawn in the rivers. Among the different species we can mention: the sea run brown trout, the pacific salmon, and the steelhead. These fishes, due to their size and their strength, use to be extremely fighters.
